Due to being so busy and exhausted I've had very little oppertunity or inclination to wear lolita, I'm happy to be working so much but it makes me depressed to see all my beautiful dresses sitting untouched! Those of you adjusting from school life to professional life may be experiencing these feelings too, being forced to go from wearing loli almost every day of the week to only the weekends is difficult to get used to.
Here are some tips for those adjusting to a new lolita schedule:
1. Take your time in the morning to do your hair in a lolita style, add a small, work appropriate bow or corsage. You'll feel a touch of loli all through the day!

"What do you mean this isn't appropriate for work?"
2. Purchase a dress form and display your favorite coordinate in your bedroom. You will get pumped up to wear it on the weekend!
Alternately you could steal this one from Baby, The Stars Shine Bright and decorate your new jail cell!
3. Similarly, display your cute accessories on your dresser. When you wake up in the morning being surrounded by cuteness will cheer you up.

4. Make plans with your friends to wear lolita together at least once a month, that way you will have no excuses to lounge around your house wearing sweat pants just because it's your day off!
"I'm so glad I dropped the $300 for this Moitie gas mask!"
5. Take off the shoulder strap and start sleeping with your Bunny Bear Bag!
Just don't sleep with this one, you may get pregnant.
6. Make a small lolita purchase from your favorite shop, maybe a headdress or socks.
Or this...whatever it is.
7. Reassure yourself that you aren't quitting lolita or abandoning an important part of yourself, you're just minimizing the time spent all dolled up which will therefore make it more special when you do get the chance.
"I feel a wig really completes my coordinates"
8. See if you can decorate your cubicle at work with cute things!
This stuff is an appropriate use of the company credit card, right?
If you are having the same feelings as I am then I hope that these tips will help you to feel better! If you have a friend who is experiencing a forced lack of lolita time decide to spend a day together and do something sweet for her!

Your humor is definitely my favorite part of this article! Lol, great tips and as always, keep up the good work!

ReplyDeleteI really enjoy your tips! And it doesn't just have to be for work, I know that I would love to wear lolita to school but the travel time doesn't make it possible. So I will definitely try some of these to get in the mode to wear it more often.
ReplyDeleteI just loved the little captions on those adorable and well picked pictures <<3 This post was so cheerful especially since it's about something that can be considered rather sad~ I just LOVE that you update so regularly since a lot of people I follow don't at all and seeing your blog posts that are always so cute and well thought out makes me SMIILLEE~ :DD

ReplyDeletePics and annotations are so funny! :D
ReplyDeleteMy advice would be - lolify your everyday style or find some style that is similar to lolita in aesthetics. For example, I like otome and sweet kei (gyaru) to wear everyday ^^
That BTSSB bunny pen... ._.
